The SQA2 Blog: General
Are you considering a job in the software QA field? If so, recent data suggests you may be making a wise career choice. The demand for software applications is increasing at a rapid rate. Companies must build custom applications to satisfy their customers’ needs. These days, companies cannot simply build a website and wait for the customers to flock to them. Companies need websites and applications that you can access (which function correctly!) on phones, tablets, e-readers, and other mobile devices. However, companies often release poorly written software. Release dates, and not customer satisfaction, the primary driver for completion. You must test it before the customer gets access to it. A quick internet search will reveal companies that lost money, customers or their reputation because they released poor software or failed to keep their programs updated.
Any company that produces software needs someone, if not an entire team, to test it and make sure it functions as designed. If you’re passionate about quality software and technology, software QA might be the career for you. Software QA is a stable career that also pays well depending on your years of experience, education and geographic area. Search a job site and review the salary ranges for various QA job titles.
